A Little Note About Habanero Peppers!
Habanero peppers are a variety of chili peppers that is the hottest peppers in the world. Its varieties vary in color and in size. A typical color for these hot peppers is orange or red, but you can also find them in brown, white and even pink. They are usually about 2-6 centimeters in length when fully-grown and ripe. Habanero peppers have grown, first in Cuba and then from that area into the United States. The results are a harvest full year after year and a market growing to match the needs of those that just love these peppers.
A little history on how habanero peppers came here. They were first introduced into the Yucatan. Now, you can find them in Belize, Costa Rica, Texas, Idaho, and California. The market for these hot peppers continues to grow. Annually, in the Yucatan peninsula there are more than 1500 tons of these hot peppers grown and harvested each and every season.
What are they used for? Why is the demand for habanero peppers growing? It could be that more and more people from across the world are enjoying the heat that they offer. It could be that they are a great addition to all types of foods that we already enjoy.
