March 26, 2006 By: Rumilio Morales The Basics About Spaghetti SauceHow do you like your spaghetti sauces? The most authentic Italian versions offer simple spice ingredients of good quality. They are not bottled, but made from scratch. Think this is too hard? It really can be simple. Of course, traditional Italian sauce is cooked for hours and hours all Sunday long. But, you can make a simple version just by opening a can of stewed tomatoes, adding to it olive oil, basil, oregano, garlic, and other seasonings. Maybe you can throw in a few vegetables like habanero peppers or onions. You may want to add some Parmesan cheese on top of the sauces. If you want to spice up your sauce recipes, add in a few seasonings like sauces or powdered versions of the habanero or red peppers. Cayenne peppers offer a slightly milder taste. Of course, if you do not want to make your own sauce, go ahead and buy it. But, look online for great recipes and bottled versions of your favorites. Or, why not try something new? Experimenting with sauces and recipes is a great way to add something new to your everyday foods.
